Trying to build up healthy habits with exercise and food takes up a lot of effort not only from our to bodies but from our minds as well. But, we all have to start somewehere.
I started my fitness journey 2 year ago. The first time I step foot to the gym was to use the gym pool where I stayed in the pool till my boyfriend was done with his workouts. Then one day he asked me just to join him at the gym. I went , did the workouts I was told and never stepped into the gym for the next 5-6 months. I told him how uncomfortable I felt in gym, it felt like people staring and judging me. Then he got me a set of dumbbells and told me start working out at home. That’s when i fell in love with fitness. My personal space where no ones going to judge me or look at me differently.
At first you might feel intimidated, anxious and judged. But, don’t let it stop you from being who you are and who you want to become. I was 32kg when first started out, so skinny with a flat bum. Now I proudly say I am 48kg, progressing through my goals to tone my body, It’s not fat I’ve gained it’s muscles.
You cannot progress overnight, it takes days, months and years. You need to be patient with yourself,
Trust yourself, take care of yourself mentally as well as physically. It’s okay to feel scared and not know what your next step is, it’s totally fine to be anxious, everyone feels it.
Focus on yourself, do not do it for anyone else do it for you. Now I workout at home as well as at the gym. I still do feel intimidated surrounded by men, and sometimes being the only women in the gym. But I think every time I walk in yo the gym ‘I don’t care who’s looking because I am doing it for me so that I can be proud and confident’.
This is just one place I feel anxious and intimidated. Each one of us is different in many ways, and feels it in different ways. Find that confidence within you. Everyone’s got one.
This inspires me a lot ! So glad that you have made so much progress !
Thanks 😊
