The trip to Jaffna was planned to go by the train and it had to be booked a few weeks prior to the trip. However, the train we booked and the train we got was different from each other, well it wasn’t that bad, but it wasn\’t the most luxurious ride I would say.

We stayed at Thalsevana Holiday Resort Kankesanthurai which is run by the Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna. The rooms featured air conditioning, hot water, free wifi and many more facilities. The resort consists of a volleyball court, a pool also faces the beautiful KKS beach. Both the sunrise and the sunset gives a breathtaking view.
If you ever visit Jaffna here are some places you must visit,
- Nallur Kandaswamy temple
- Jaffna Fort
- Fort Hammenhiel
- Neduntheevu also known as Delft Islands
- Nagha Theepa Temple
- Casuarina Beach
- Dambakola Patuna Sangamitta Temple, Port of Jambukola
- Rio Ice Cream – One important place you should go when you visit Jaffna is this famous ice cream parlour. Its always packed inside and it\’s worth waiting cause in the end you get to taste their mouth watering creamy ice cream. They do have branches in Wellawatte and Negombo. I can\’t count how many times I have been there but that is one place I would never miss.
- Jaffna Market
- Jaffna Archeological Museum
- Jaffna Public Library
